Back in CR43, we published a little feature on this excellent US singer/songwriter whose "Toys In The River" album made it to the UCB Europe playlist. Now comes another set of self-penned songs and again we can report that Jim is not one of those earnest wannabes with a folder full of evangelical clich's, but a crafter of thought provoking songs, full of colourful imagery. So whether he deals with the willingness of the Lord to shock our conventions as He brings healing ("Come Let Me Spit In Your Eyes"); our willingness to get sidetracked on the dumbest rumours ("Why 2K"); or the absurdity of prejudice ("What Colour Am I"), this set of gutsy pop rock songs is crammed full of good ideas. As good a songwriter as anyone Nashville has got, this guy demands investigation.
